The bill authorising the county of Kings to raise money to erect certain buildings, was ordered to a third reading. , Further action wae had on the bill to abolish capi- tal punishment. A motion that the house vote on the bill to-morrow, was cut off by adjournment. __ BY THE MAILS. Wasninoton, D.C., Oct. 9, 1847. Kosciusko Case. This case is coming at last to « clese. The Hon. Reverdy Johnson and Major Tochman, counsel of the heirs, to put down the legal quibbles, to which I re- ferred yesterday, opposed to them by the counsel of Col. Bomford, administrator de bonis non of the Kosclusko es- tate, with the will of 1798 annexed, filed « petition and moved the court, to order Col. Bomford to show cause why his letters of administration, with the will annexed, should not be revoked, and letters of administration generally granted to such person as the counsel of the heirs shall reoommend, pursuant to the statute in such ease made and provided. ‘The will of 1798, under which Col. Bomford administers*the estate, being revoked by the will of 1816, which has been executed and proved ac- cording to law—the prayer granted, and Col Bomford ordered to appear and show cause, Ke., on the 22d inst ‘The controversy between Major Tochman on one side, and Mr de Bodisoo, and the counsel ef the Imperii on the other, which had created #0 mauch x. citement among our contemporaries, seem® to have been to the winds; at least since Major Tochman, associated with himeeif, the Hon Reverdy Johnson ng counsel of the heirs, the Imperiul Counsel do not inter- fore with his professional pursuits, We will see whether they will renew their motion at the next term of the ireult Court, to have stricken his name off the roll of the members of the bar, because of his having associated with Mr. Johnson to defeat Mr. Bodisco’s plan of visiting upon him the penal laws of Russia in this free Rare PHILADELPMIA, mia, Ost. 13, 1847, The Pennsylvania Election, "The excitement attendant upon the receipt of election returns from the surrounding districts aud the interior of the State, renders every other description of news unin- teresting. The complexion of the vote already received renders it certain that Governor Shunk has been re- elected by something near 10,000 majority. A gratifying result of this contest, as far as regards the first Con- gressional district, is the fact that Mr. Levio, the only member of the native party in the next Congfess, has lost his foothold ; the returms from the polls comprised within the bounds of his constituency presenting a ma- jority of 1222 against the native candidate. Levin’ plurality, at the last election, was 431, so that this shows 9 loss of 1653 native votes in one short twelvemonth. There were no disturbances throughout the city and county yesterday, with the exception of two affrays that occurred in Southwark. One was tavern fight, n the Commissiouer’s Hall, by the Bouncers and Rams ; and the other a street fight, in which a lad was knocke senseless by a blow with « bludgeon.
