This intelligence has fm. parted great buoyancy to our cotton market, and sales yesterday reached 4000 bales, at an advauce of 3gc. on the rates current before the steamer. Flour holders are not willing to concede the required decline, and but a few hundred barrels were sold, in small lote, at $4 to $4 20 per bbl. for sweet, and $4 373¢ for sour. ‘The sup- ply of corn is light, and only some 450 sacks were sold at 40 to dlc. per bushel for mixed, though for a lot of 1000 sacks prime 50c. was offered. Nothing done in wheat. Puitavecrmia, August 4,—The flour market continues quiet, and the demand for. ox port, very Umited. Frosh found Pennsylvania is held femly at $6 and sound ‘estern at $5 8734, but only # few Beaded bere vers sold. ‘The reoeipts and stock continue unusually light. Rye flour is inactive and nominally held at $3 60. Corn meal is dull, and Pennsylvania is offered at $3 25 and Brandywine at $ 875 per bbl., without finding purchas- ers Grain—Wheat continues scarce and prices are fully sustained. 800 bushels Pennsylvania red from store sold at $127, and 1200 bushels good Weategn and Southern afloat at $126, part for starch making.” Corn is dull and has further deolined.
