Navigation of ‘the Ome River. Places. State of River. | Wheeling. . 6.0.06 March” 30... feet. Pittaburg. , March 26 Cincinnati Louisville. . March 30 March 30 MONEY MARKET. ‘Tuesday, April 6—6 P. M Che stock market is firm, but it appears to have lost that buoyancy which it possessed at the close of last week, The advance in prices was a little too rapid to be sustained, and the reaction has been greater than an- icipated. Holders, however, do not appear very anxious ‘o realise, as there are so many indications of another up- ward movement, Money is decidedly more abundant, and the opening of the spring trade will, without doubt, wiievethat class which has heretofore been the heaviest applicants to the banks, It would be well for stock spe- culatora to consider the probabilities of there being an increased demand for money from thore engaged in the produce business, upgn the opening of the river and | anals. The immense amount of breadstuffs that will past forward upon the resumption of navigation, will bsorb a great deal of money which is at present em- ployed in other pursuits, and it is possible the demand may be greater than the eupply.
