M. Timson, John Robinson and George Burgess, of your city. The Express train, with the New York and other mails, arrived at 3} this morning. Our harbor presents a very unusual appear- ance. We have over 300 vessels ready for sea, and all wind bound, Itisa very singular sight. The sound and harbors of Cape Cod are also filled with packets from the South, all waiting for wind. Ourbusiness men are suffering from the want of their cargoss. Forty schooners and sloops from New York tor Boston, are at anchor near Hart's Island. We have yet seen nothing of the Acadia, al- though she is hourly expected. Being the fastest steamer of the line, she will probably come out in thirteen days or less, =e BY THE MAILS. The reported Surrender of Chihuahua to lhe American Troops. The Lexington, Missouri, Express, of the 3d inst., says:— “A gentleman of this city informs us that he perused a letter, a day or two since, which had been received in Camden, giving the particulars of the surrender of Chihuahua to the forces under | Gen. Wool. The army, it seems, entered the city without resistance; the American flag was saluted by the citizens, and after a few hours had elapsed, the American officers were invited to partake of a splendid dinner, whic: had been prepared for them by the Chihnahuans. That, we should say, was rather a new modo of capturing an enemy’s town.” Wasuixatox, Nov. 15, 1846. The opproaching Session of Congress. On Monday, the 7th of December, the second session | -commences. Their vengeance was naturally directed to the south. An opportunity soon came for the most ample retaliation. ‘The biil of two millions for the purchase of the govern ment of the Mexicansof a treaty of peace was before the House. The north and the west were sore. ‘The south were chuckling in the highest glee, when Pa., enjoining that in no the proviso of Wilmot, of territories which may be acquired in the proposed trea- ty wit nation like a bomb-shell the Senate. Now, the question recurs, will the north and west as- territories acquired in the annexation of Texas?
