The rumor, however, in your Herald ot yesterday, about a flare up between Benton and Archer, on G. W. Woodward’s nomination, is without founda- tion. Mr Woodward’s nomination is not yet be- fore the Senate—and, of course, there is no flare up of the kind. When it does come up, I think Mr Woodward will be promptly rejected.
