Bennerr, Esq. :— : The prediction communicated by me relative to the passage of a jointresolution through the House of Representatives, has been fulfilled, and the pro- position of Milton Brown, a whig member from Tennessee, has been adopted, as | previously in- formed you it would. Various propositions were made in Committee of the Whole, after the debate had been closed to-day, all of which were voted down until the one now passed was reached, when the Committee rose and adopted it up a test vote of 118 to 101, making 17 majority. The democra- tic members from New York State who voted against it, were—Joseph H. Anderson, of West- chester; Levi D. Carpenter, of Oneida ; E. Cary, of Otsego; Amasa Dana, of Richard D. Davis, of Dutchess Seneca; Preston King, of St. M. Purdy, of Chenango ; George Rathbun, of Ca- yuga; Orville Robinson, of Oswego ; David L.
