It is plainly to be seen that importatiens into this country of the produce and manufactures of Great Britain are an. nually declining, and we ere rapidly becoming able to supply ourselves with many articles heretofore received from abroad, while our exports are gradually but steadily increasing in value. One cause for this fact is, our staple articles ot export are of such a nature that the wants of foreign countries must be principally supplied from thix country.
