_Ivrropuctory Lycrure to tHe Maaniricent, Srurenvous, aNv ALL-MOVING PHILosoruy OF THE Nuverkenra Century.—The Broadway Taberna- cle ought to be thronged this evening with the grave and gay, the philosophical, and the fashiona- ble, the élite’of this wonderful and marvel-loving cenire of all tremendous social movements on this side sunrise. Professor Bronson intends to fire off the philosophical “ peace maker,” the commence- mentof agrand cannonade on the stupidity and udo-philosophy of the age; which, if it does not first bebind the touch-hole, will knock Fourier- sm, Millerism, and all the isms in Webster's Di -lionary, into a cocked hat. He means to take Drs tPotts, Wainwright, and Dewey to pieces, as easy as he does his Mannikin, and show them pieceineal to the audience. The Professor promises to exhi- bit the growth of a rose, magnified to the size of ixfeet, We could furnish him with a Broadwa) ** tulip,” already magnified in its own eyes to full that size, and that would pay something besides, for being stared at. Among the subjects to be treated of are astrology, idolatry, the metempsy- chosis, mythology, magic, witchcraft, and mesmer- ism. ‘All'the girls in town must be there, and no mistake ; for the very quintessence of love, court- ship, and the philosophy of gettiug married, are contained in those things. A.B. Amusements, Cuatnam Crrovs. —There was last night assem- bled within the walls of this house one of the most fashionable audiences we ever saw congregated, to wit- ness the singular spectacle of the Spanish Bull Fight — ‘The spectacle was commenced and continued throughout with all the spirit and effect of the real exhibition at the Plaza di Torre, of Madrid, and the shouts and exultations ofthe multitude evinced the general admiration of the sport. Mr. McFarland, with his fifty somersetts, drew down continued plaudits. Smith and his celored ‘trou in thelr new concerted melodies, were more than usual We will not forbear to mention that the mi nagers are much indebted for the success of the new spec- tacle to the incessant efforts of Mr. W.R. Derr in training the docile steed which so successfully represents “Jason” the bull. Otto Motty, the triumphant charioteer of the ring, stage and race course, is engaged, and appears for the first time on Thursday. The saine bill as of last night wili be repeated this evening. Huzza vor tHe Kentucky Muinstrets!—This unique band of Ethiopian melodists and delineators ‘of negro character and peculiarities, is enguged at the American Museum, and last night they were received with the most enthusiastic cheering. ‘The large saloon will be crowded during their engagement. ‘The bill is decidedly the richest put forth this season. ‘The magic is excellent. ‘The Chinese equilibriums, the best ever seen. The de- lineations of Irish character true to lifeand most intensely interesting | The Irish song was most melodious ; and the banjo, by Mr. Whitlock, discoursed the sweetest mu- sic we ever heard—to say nothing of the other perform ances by Mr. Sherman, Cerito, Booth, &c. The Gypsey Queen should not be forgotten, for she is gaining great celebrity in her profession of fortune telling. ‘Texas ConGress.—Thirteen of the members of the eighth Congress of Texas are natives of Geor- gia, seven are natives of Tennessee, seven of Virginia, seven of North Carolina, six are natives of Kentucky, two natives of Massachusetts, two of New York, twoof South Carolina, two of Pennsylvania, one a native of Mirsouri, one of Mississippi, one of Ohio, one of Louisiana, one of Austria, and one a native of Canada. ‘Thirty-four of them are planters or farmers, twelve are lawyers, five physi- cians, and two merchants, 0g- LECTURES ON UNIVERSAL PHILOSOPHY— Or the Science ot Things Natural, Human and Divine :— By Professor Bronson, A. It was placed on the books of botn boards of brokers about two weeks since, and the speculators have already got it in hand. It is undoubted: | ly good sterling stock, but the present position of the road will not sustain so rapid and great an advance. Stocks from all parts of the country seek this market to | receive the benefit of the speculation that 1s continually | going on here. Just as soon as anew stock comes on | change the brokers get hold of it, and start the price up before operators fairly understand what it is worth, or where it comes from. ‘The introduction of a few new stocks ipto the boards of brokers would create quite an activity in the market, as most of those daily operated in are nearly used up. They have become too common to catch the unwary. Annexed we give a table showing the total receipts, ex: penses, and nett income of the railroads of New Eng- land. It is avery instructive statement to the capitalists of this city, and shows that money invested in this kind of property produces rapid and profitable returns. The average per cent nett income of the twelve roads of New England, is a little over five. The average per cent of those paying dividends is nearly seven. ‘There is a two fold benefit arising from the existence of this de- scription of property. a’he first is the safety of the in. vestment, and the second is the good these improvements produce by developing the resources and wealth of the country. Dear Sir :--I wish you to add my testimony to the host of others that you have, in favor of your valuable Pills, In the year 1938, I was attacked with that disagreeable complaint, the Dyspepsia, which #0 affected me that | could not take the least particle of food, without the most unpleasant and uncomfortable sensations in my chest, head and bowels. My chest was so sore that! could not bear the slightest pressure without giving me pain My health was most miserable; many physicians told me they thought I was in the consumption, and that if 1 did not give up my business, and change climate, I could live but a short time. I tried every thi sulted the most awilful phy , but fonnd no per: nent relief.
