Death of Nicholas Biddle. For some months past it has been known to the friends of Nicholas Biddle that hishealth was great- ly impaired, and his permanent recovery doubtful. Itis our painful task to announce that the disease which has so long afflicted him terminated his lite this morning at Andalusia. The hour of his death was abont four o’clock. Nicholas Biddle was born in this city on the 8th of] January, 1786. His paternal ancestors immigra- ted with Wiiliam Penn. His father was Charles Biddle, a ETO DRA whig, who was active in the American cause uring the war of indepen- dence. At the period of the birth of Nicholas, he enjoyed the second office in the State, while Ben- in Franklin held the first. Other members of tis father’s family distinguished themselves by their intelligence, valor, and devotion to the cause of their country, The last illness of Mr. Biddle was accompanied by great suffering. In the early stages of the. di- sease he occasionally visited the city, but exhibited to those who met him no token of physical distress. His fortitude was conspicuous to the fast. He leaves a widow, several children, and numerous relatives and friends to mourn hia loss, at an age when they might well have hoped to witness the exercise of She powers in their full vigor.—Phil. Gaz., vl Dearx or rite Hon. Joun Leeps Kerr.—This melancholy event took place last Wednesday eve- ning, after along and painful illness. The deceased was in the 65th year ot his age.
