Paut Jones,—It is stated in the Gardner (Me ) Ledger that there is now living in the town of Li- vermore, in that State, Thomus Chase, one of the seamen who were with Paul Jones on board the fa- mous Bon Homme Richard, when engaged with two British ships of war. This veteran sailor is now ot the age of 86—apparently in the enjoyment of good health. The only organ of sense which ap- pears to be much impaired, is that of hearing. The tympanum of his ear having been injured by the goncussion caused by the guns, he having extended his head through a port note during the firing. Mr. Onase is a native of Martha’s Vineyard, and has lived in Livermore fifty two years. New Improvement Iv THe Manuracture or Carrers.—The new mill which is in progress of building in Lowell bi the Lowell Corporation, is in- tended for the introduction of carpet power looms, which is a new invention by a gentleman of that city.
