As ana- tural consequence, its advertising patronage has diminis yi ed in a like ratio, as may be seen by looking at its columns. The evidence of the decline in its circulation is exhibited in the contract with Mr. Butler. published by Mr. Beach himeelt, as contrasted with our contract made with Persse & Brooks. It is an isolated spot, some thirty or forty milesin circuit, distant three or four degreesfroma_y other land, containing from 1000 to 1500 inhabitants, and is, without ption, the most beautiful of any I have everseen. Every variety of scenery; hill, dale and valley delightlully interspersed, covered with verdant trees, and abounding in all kinds of tropical fruits, having a salubrious climate, which is so warm that clothing can be easily dispensed with; consequently no more is worn than a proper respect for decency requires. The natives, themselves, seem to be tinctured with its mildness, and every thing moving in its atmosphere, possess unusual do- cility. Emphatically, it is the home of innocence and is considered here quite wealthy. We call them here Prince Albert and Queen Clarissa, and I amsure they are quite as worthy of the title as any of the royal blood of Europe. ‘e have had quite an interesting course of lec- tures here thie winter on animal magnetism, by Mr. Henry G.
