The latest word from Harrisburg is that the Re- sumption Bill had been referred to a Committee of Conference, composed of such men that it is fear- ed the ‘‘ immediate” feature, sanctioned by both houses, will be stricken out, and a resumption fix- vedtwo or three months off—perhaps longer. 1, however, still hopebetter. The ramor afloat here yesterday, that the bill had passed, proves to have been a hoax on one of the morning papers—the pro- prietors of which placed the news on their bul- letin. At the stock board to-day the business was very heard of, and if it is not extensively made known to the iblic, I think the proprietors are very culpable. If you aw the persons in New York selling it, you had better show them this letter, and let them referto you, or pub- lish this ifyou thinkit would aid the distressed.
