We hear likewile,that the governor of St. Auguftine has applied to governor Wright, that he would in- terpofe his good officers to sccomodate matters be- geween the Creek Indians and Spaniards. His Excellency theGovernor has empower'd proper perlons to recruit the 268 men required by his Ex- cellency Sir Jeffery Amherft, from this province ; one of them is beating up for volunteers here, and the reft are fet out for the different parts of the province. Wil iam Lyford commander, of 8 carriage and 12 fwivel guns, with 70 men ; there is alfo “fitting out, with the greateit expedition, a fine brig called the Charles- town, mounting 14 double fortified fix pounders, z0 {wivels, and to carry 120 men ; and great encour- sgement is given to volunteers to enter.
