Iy ' Extraft of a Letter from Briflol. —FROM the Vigour with which all Sides con- tinue their Preparations for protralting the War, and the Slownefs of the feveral Plenipotentiaries to get to their Places of Rendezvous, it is not probable this wifhed for Event.will come to pafs fo foon as might be expeéted. It is eafy to fee, that the Hopes of ¢nabling the Powers concerned to raife in their Demand, is the Caufe of their Minifters taking fuch flow Journeys. For the Auftrian Party, as they build mauch on their Strength of the Ruffians, and the Number of Marfhal Laudohn’s Army, they make no Scruple of avowing openly, that they ex- peét either to be putin Poffeflon of Silefia by a Vi&ory, which fhall at once determine every Thing, or at leaft fo weaken the gallant King of Pruffia, as to mske him glad to purchafe a Peace, by renounc- ing it. gCapt.
