PHILADELPHIA Miy21, There was, 2 few Days-ago, a French Privateer Brig “Cruizing in Lat. 33 which had Teveral Ranfomers on board. The Snow Dreaduought, Captain Smith, from Ja- maica for this Port,was caft away in the Gulph of Flor- ‘ida, and both Veflel md Cargo were intirely loft. Yelterday arrived here the Ship Jofeph and Nancy, ‘Capt. Taylor, from Beltaft, which he left the 13th ult. By him we have Irifh Papers to the 7th of April, which contain Advices from London to the 28th of March, the Purport of whichisas follows : That on the 27.h of that Month, the’ Embarkation on board ths Grand ‘Expddition Fleet ended, and that it was thought would fail the next Day, as pofitive Orders had been given for Sailing the firft fair Wind - That the Allies #ill carried on the'Sieges of Ziegenhayn and Caflel, which it was thought would foon capitulate : Thata War in Italy was expected ; and that his Sardinitn Majefty would open the Campaign with 56,000 Men : That the Swe- difh Court had refolved for raife no more Men for the War : And that the King of Pruflia would quickly be- gin his Operations with the Siege of Drefden. In the Papers there is an Account, that the 28th of March died that Great, Learned and Pious Divine, the Reyerend Mr. GEORGE WHITEFIELD. The 31t of March, there was at Madeira a Shack of sn Earthquake, on the North Es& Past of the Idand, which did fome Damage. M'PerlonCommander, arrived at Salt Key, (about 2 Leagues toWindward of Providence )with 1 French, and 4 Dutch Sloops, Prizes, from Cape Francois. Friday laft the gnow Induftry, Capt. Killett, arrived here from Londoen, but Jaft from Port{mouth in 6 Weeks and 2 Diys, from which Place he failed in Company with the Welt Tadia Convoy, under the Pembroke Man of War, John Wheelock Efq; Commander, from whom he paried in Lat, 36 ; as did the Dragon, Capt. Ham- mmit, at the fame Time for Philadelphis, and three Vir- pinia Ships.—Capt. Killet informs us, that the Grand Fleet of 'Men of War and Tranfports, left Portfmouth on the intended Expedision, on Suaday the 29th of Mirch; the Day before he left Port{mouth 5 and that its Deftination was flill a Secret. .......
