Luckner tound him‘elf furround- ed, the Enemy had cut him off from Nordheim, Duder- ftad:, and Lindau ; and there remeined no other Road for him than that ot Wizenhaulea ; he filed off that Way, and very happily difentangled hfmlelf from the Hands of his Enemies, without lofing either Cannon, Baggage, or even a fingle Man. it we only except 34 Miliia, who foolifhly ftaid in Town. _ He afterwards formed upon a Hill, from whence he brifkly cannonaded the Enemy ; and after killing and wounding 200 of them, sbout Noon he put in March to Worbes. The Enemy purfied him as far as Scharffenftein, but without taking or killing & fingle Man. It is certain, that no Body of Traops who had been furpriz:d, ever more clearly extricated themfelves. The Eaemy were very ftrong : According to their own Ac- count, and the Advices we have had fince, they amount ed to gooo Men. A Part of the Gurrifoa of Gotten- gen was employed in this Scheme, with all thofe Quar- tered on the Lower Werra.
