Mi1ss — HE Charms with which Heaven has blefzd you, while they delight the Eye, make me tremble for you hereafter. ' Beauty has often bzen the Rock on which Virtue has fplit, when Care has not been taken to enrich the Mind with Meens to proteét it in all the Changes of Life. A fplen; Fortune is ever sttended by Luxury, whofe Comp#hion is Ccquetry—The Adoraiion of the Men, and their perpetual Flatteries to our Scx, are often too pleafing to our Vanity ; and by liftening to a Number, the Heart is uncertain in its Determination, and one in- fenfibly gives up to a ****¥* hyr Repurtation we fear to trult with one fingle Perfon, and which ought to be dearer to us than one’s Life. Again, Poverty, and Misfortunes, and aLife imbitter’d by continual Vexations, are nolefs fatal to Virtue ; fach a Woman is spt to make Ule of her Beauty to fubdue her Enemics, and to procure her Friends in time of peed : She meets, tis probable, with dangerous Temptations, and her Honour becomes 8 Sacrifice to Graiitude. To prevent thele difsfterous Accidents, Wildom is the only Means 5 but endeavor to be wife without Affe&tation. Wildom does not require fo much outward Shew s imward Severity. Be prudent without being a Prude : let your Modefly be accompsnied with Gaiety, and your neceflary Referve with good Nature. Apply yourfelf to learn what will adorn your Mind, and be not vain in your own Conceit. Let your Philofophy be Chriftian. Be affable and abliging to all. ADVERTISEMENTS.
