Stacy who i3 arrived at Marblehead in in 39 Days from Lifbon, we are informed, Thatjuft as he was coming awsay, & Gentleman, (one of the principal” Englith Merchaats there ) toid him thata Poft wasarrived with an Account that the KING of Prufiia had a general Ba:tle with the Impeiial Army, and obtained a compleat Victory over them, by killing and taking Prifoners 25,000 Men ; that the great Auftrian General Marihal DAUN wss among the killed, it is faid he was killed by a Cannon Ball.— Capt. Stacy further {ays, that 2 Schooner was to fail in a few Hours after him, for Marblel which he imagines will bring fome further Account of this moft important Affair. Partridge in a Ship belonging to this Port, in his Pa{fage to Anigua, wien in Sight of that Ifland, wasettacked by two French Privateers, which he beat cff ; but finding they were prepaiing toboard him, he ok fome Hands from on board a Sloop that he had ander his Convoy, and repaired to his Clofe Quarters ; when the Enemy boarded him ; with whom he cogaged :ill the Privateers were obliged again to fhcer off, leaving 18 Men dead and wounded on Capt. Partridge’s Deck. We hear that His Majefty’s Ships which wintered at Halifax, were to fail abous the 6th of Apiil. The General Aflembly of the Colony of Coneéli- cut have ordered Five Thoufand Men for the Service of the enfuing Campaign. And, The Province of New Jerley have agreed to raife the fame Number of Men ror the enfuing Campaign that they did the laft ; and t5 give the fame Bounty ; viz. £. 12 Proclamation Money, to all who thail voluntarily inlift. - . An Hpunorable Gentleman in a neighbouringTown, upon hesring of the diftrefling Circumfitances ot mary of the Sufferers in the late terrible Fire, immediately inclofed an Order to hie Friend here, to diflnibute 100 Bufhels of Corn'amang tholc who were in the greateft Neceflity. We hear that one of the Flags of Truce, lately car- ried into Jamaics, by one of his Mejelty’s Sloops of War, was a Ship belorging to Newport, Rhede- 1fland, commanded by Capr. Maibone.
