There was aimmenfe Quantity of Provifions fouund in the Fort, defigned for thie Forts to the Southward, and for an army that was {oon to have affembled at Ofwego, and clearcd the Mohawk’s River, and penetrated as far as Albany : The Army was to have confifted of 1500 Regulars, as many Caznadians, and a great number of Indians, as well French, as thofe pretended to be in the Englih Jn- tereft ; but fince the Return of Col. Braditreet, the Indians are extremely complaifant at the Carrying- Place ; at which Place Col.
