Some Folks who pretend tobe in the Secrets of foreign Cabinets, are pretty pofitive, that the French are treating with the King of Pruffia about an Accommodation ; the Conditions of which are, that the French will guaranty Silefia to his Pruffian Majeity, and let them keep Poffeflion of Saxony, till a general Peace can be brought about ; with a Referve however, that the Auftrians (hall be at Liberty to drive them out of that Electorate if they can. On the other Hand, Pruffia is not to diftarb the French, in any fhape, in the Territories of Hanover, which they intend to keep Pofleflion of till a general Peace, and then not to evacuate, them but on Condition of having New York ceded to France ; and Prufiia, in Return for the Guaranty of Silefia, is (o guaranty the Auftrian Netherlands to the French. PorTsmouTH, Now. 9. The Grafton, of 70 Guns, Commodore Holmes, and the Devonthire, of 64 Guns, are arrived this Morning in Portfmouth Harbour, in 42 Days from America. They are part of the unfortunate Squadron lately cruizing off Louifbourg, and were taken in Tow 120 Leagues by the Dunkirk and Achilles. They are both difmafted ; the Grafton likewife lolt her Rudder, and the Devonthire was obliged to throw Part of her Guns overboard.
