Monday Evening laft, his Majefty’s Sloop of War the Spy, "William Bayre, Commander, arrived at Sandy-Hook, in 8 Weeks from Falmouth. ~ Friday laf retarned here from a Cruize the Privateer Snow Revenge, Captain Koffler, and Snow Hornet, Captain Spelling, and brought in with them (being in Confort for _fome Time before) a large French Ship, of 400 Tons, “«alled the Four- Friends, taken by the latter the firft Inftant in Latitude 28,°2, Longitude 68, 46, after a fmart Engage- stient of 6 Glafles, as fhe mounted 14 Carriage Gans, and 62 Men, two of which were killed in the Engagement, be- fides the fi-ft Cap:ain, Lieutenant, and a Paflenger wounded. Capt. Koffler’s Chief Mate, named James Lowrey, was fhot through the Head, and William Serjeant and Ezekiel Ran- kin, were wounded.——The Ship failed from Cape- Francois the 22d of June, bound for Bourdeaux, in Company with 2 Brigs, and 2 other Ships, under Convoy of the Greenwich Man of War, and a large Store Ship (formerly a Man of ‘War) who left them off the Cacafes,and returned to the Cape egain.” Her Cargo is Sugar, Cotton, and a confiderable Quantity of Indigo. Befides the above Ship, the Captains Koffler and Spelling, on the 3d of Jane, took a large Schooner bound from Bour- deaux for Caps Francois, laden moftly with Bale Goods, which they left fixteen Days ago, and is efleemed a very va “ lnable Prize.
