—-o——————— FUND DISBURSING GETS UNDER WaY Gommittee to Supervise Relief Distribution Organizes At a meeting held yesterday after- noon, disbursement of the emergency relief fund for which $14,000 has been raised was started following organization of the committee ap- pointed to supervise its distribution. Mrs. George W. Corbin was elected chairman, and Comptroller William H, Day was named secretary, Others who compose the commit- tee are W. Manville Johnson, Mrs. Howard Parsons, Chief W. C. Harl, Chief W. J. Noble, Miss Anne O'Brien, Miss Lolla M. Littlchales, Hugh McKenna and Curtis L. Shel- don. Mayor /Quigley of the committee, ex-officio. Only three cases were ready for the committee’s action, two of which were found to be in the province of the Welfare department. Belfef that the fund will continue to grow until it reaches $50,000 was €xpressed by the mayor. Treasurer Sheldon will carry out the financial side of the distribution. His accounts will be checked by Mr. Day. Relief will not be given cash. The money wiil supply need either clothing, fuel or shelter. will remain in confidence among the group making up the commniittee. A record of each one will be kept by the secretary but will not be open 10 public perusal.
