3 -Q'Gorman, Leslie LAWYERS SUPPORT CURRY'S ATTITUDE Charge State's Attorney General With Playing Politics New York, Oct. 6.+(—The re- fusal of JoHn F. Curry, Tammany chieftain, to waive immunity and testity before the special grand jury investigating judiciary office buying has been upheld by a group of prominent lawyers, described Tammany's board of legal advisers. Endorsement of Curry's stand was contained in a letter signed by 11 | lawyers, published today. It said: “We believe you have setgn ex- ample which will help to rechl to the public a realization of the value and necesity of preserving those rights and powers of the individual | upon which so much of our progress and growth have rested. “So far as the legality of your position is concerned, we advie you that in our opinion it was sound and unassailable. Steuer, Ed- ward 8. Dore, chairman of the Tam- many law committee; Philip J. Dunn, Terence J. McManus, secre- tary of the New York County Law- vers’ association and attorney for Mayor James J.
