(P—)Mrs. Ethel | Bailey, about 45, wife of Ernest | Bailey of Hanover street, Yalesville, | a building contractor, was instantly killed shortly before 11 o'clock this morning on the Yalesville road, near Ulert's grove, when a car she was driving was carried against a tree in collision with a Connecticut com- pany bus, operated by Joseph H Kane, of 160 Summer street, Meri- den. Mrs. Bailey, who was returning to her home from Wallingford, | was traveling north, the same direction as the bus, after having passed the bus ap- parently cut in too short n front of the heavier vehicle. The woman's car is said to have struck the front of the bus, which carried it against a tree about 18 feet off the side’ of the road. Mr. Bailey was working at the home of Charles Beers on Hanover street, owned by Fred P. Loomis of Hanover street, Yalesville, when the oc- curred.
