NEW ERITAIN DAILY HERALD, TUESDAY, DECEMBER 3, 1929, SERVICE IN'THE Ford Motor Company we emphasize service equally with sales v It has always been our belief that a sale does not complete the transaction between us and the buyer, but establishes a new obligation m us to see that his car geves him service x We are as much interested in your economical operation of the car as you are in our econom- tcal manufacture of it v This is only good business om our part ¥ If our car gives service, sales will take care of themselves For that reasm we have installed a system of controlled service to take care of all Ford car needs in an economical and improved manner v We wish all users of Ford cars to know what they are entitled to in this respect, so that they may readily avail themselves of this service. ROM the very beginning, SERVICE has been the corner-stone of the Ford business. Far back in 1908, when the first Model T Fords were made, there were few people who under- stood the operation of an automobile and fewer places to which the purchaser might turn for help when repairs were needed. Frequently in thosc days, Mr. Ford would deliver the car personally to the new owner and sce to it that some arrangements were made to keep it in good running order. Usually he would find the best informed mechanic and explain the construction of the car to him. Sometimes, when po such mechanic was available, the town black- smith would be pressed into service. Then, as the business grew, capable men werc sppointed, in 2 widening circle of towns, to de- vote their entire time to the care of Ford cars. Thesc men worked under closc factory super- vition and according to certain set standards. For just as the Ford Motor Company was the pioncer in the making of “a strong, simple, sat- isfactory automobile at a low price,” so it was also the pionecer in establishing complete and satisfactory service facilities. For the first, time in the aucomobile business it became possible for the purchaser of a car to buy parts quickly and readily and to have repairs madc at a reasonable cost. Where formerly ic had been thc accepted practice to charge the highest possiblc prices for these repairs, 2 new policy was instituted for the protection of the owner. The unusual character of Ford Service was soon recognized as one of the outstanding features of the car. Today there are more than cighe thousand Authorized Ford Dealers in the United States alone, with thousands of others located throughout the world. Their mechanics have been trained in TORD MOTOR COMPANY Detroit, Michigus special schools conducted by the Ford Motor Company and they have been equipped with all the latest service machinery. The well-ordered cleanliness of the shops and salesrooms and the uniform courtesy of all dealer cmployees are particularly appreciated by the woman motorist. Wherever you live, or wherever you go, you will find the Ford dealer prompt and business. like in his work, fair in his charges, and sin. cerely eager to do a good and thorough job at all times. His constanc effort is to relieve you of every detail in the care of your car and to help you get thousands upon thousands of miles of satisfactory, enjoyable motoring at 2 very low cost per mile. That is the purpose for which the Ford car was designed and built. That is the truc meaning of Ford Servics,
