The tests were made in a dealer’s home within twenty blocks of stations KOA using a power of | 12,500 watts, and KFXF using 500 watts. These stations operate on 830 and 940 kilocycles respec- tively—a difference of 110 kilocycles or 42 meters between them. Results were as follows:— *SELECTIVITY—The Stromberg-Carlson picked up three out of town stations between these two broadcasters—without interference. The other set was unable to tune out the locals and could get no other stations between the two points on the dial where the local stations came in. *SENSITIVITY—Using a six-foot aerial the Stromberg-Carlson picked up every station the other receiver could get ona 100-foot aerial. The other set using the six-foot aerial, could only bring in the local stations. *VOLUME~—The Stromberg-Carlson with a six-foot aerial brought in all the stations with ample volume. The other set with a 10-foot aerial could not equal the Stromberg-Carlson volume. To find out lor yourself the difference between Stromberg-Carlsons and other receivers, ask a Stromberg-Carlson dealer to make comparative home demonstrations for you. : *Full details of test on request.
