3 Speaking of Sports Managers; of several baseball teams in the city have announced that they are ready at any time to talk over the prospegts of a playoff for the city baseball titie. Included among those who are ready to start at any time are Managers Eddie Moore of Kensingeon and John Yobin of the Corbin Red Six. Manager Joseph Smulski of the Falcons stazed last Sunday that he would be ready to play in the series starting the first Sunday in August, but up to that time, his team is hooked. It is likely that the Falcons will play on the road for the re- mainder of this month. We haven't as yet heard anything from the managers of the Senecas, Holy Cross, Burritts or the Sokols with regard to the city series, but as soon as the majority of them state that they wish to enter, we think that it would be a wise policy to call a meeting to discuss the project. Should these managers be inter- csted in the project, and they so ex- press themselves, a meeting will be called for some night next week at which time the preliminarigs to the series could be ironed out As a suggestion, a round robin series could be played with each team meeting the ofhers in a home and home battle, a third game to be played if necessary. This would bring the elimination down to" two teams which could stage a series of the best three out of five for the championship of the city.
