Social Activities About Gown Holiday Week-end to Be Brilliantly Gay at Various Shore Colonies—Shuttle Meadow Club Scene of Many Festive Parties—Picnic and Beach Parties Continue Popular—Notes. NDEPENDENCE DAY falling on Thursday is sure to occasion a brilliant and gay week-end. Here in town and at the various seashore resorts all sorts of festive parties are being planned. The Stanley Goss’ are having a house party of friends at their Nantucket home. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Bates are to have gzuests at their summer cottage at Madison, the George Kimballs will also entertain at Madison. Countless other parties are being arranged, motor trips, camping parties and picnics are all on the calendar for next week-end. v The Shuttle Meadow club continues to be -the popular rallying ground for local society folk. The golf course is crowded and all through the dinner hour the dining room is a colorful place with gay informal parties.
