ARIEN WOMAN T0 SEEN HEART BALW Niss McGuiness, 43, Says Tolles, % e Wi Norwalk, June 20 UP—Professing herself to be “tired of waiting for marriage, because there have been tos muny postponements,” Miss Susan McGuiness, 43, of Darien, to- day caused attachments to be placed on the bank accounts and property of Eugene M. Tolles, 72, widower, realtor and petired coal merchant, preparatory to filing a $50,000 breach of promise suit. Her attorney, Adelbert A. Bkeel of Stamford, said Miss McGuiness' suit would be filed in superior court at Bridgeport so that it would be re. turnable at the September term. The ¢omplaint against Tolles is that in 1927 he asked Miss McGuineas to marry him and was accepted. He renewed his ples, according to the complaint, later and the wed- ling date was set, May 1928, being telected. Then, says the complaint, 1t was postponed to Labor Day, 1 from that date to Thankagiving Day, and then again to June 12 this 30 x 3% Cl. Reg. 30x 3% Cl. O.S 30x3%S.S. 31x48S.S. (6 32x48.8. OPERATES ON FLEAS ebraska Man Invents Apparatus for Removing Fleas Appendiz— But Patient Always Dies. Lincoln, Neb., June 20 UPM—Milan Kopac, graduate student at the Uni- versity of Nebruka. is a flea sur- geon. Studying parasites from a medical point of view, he frequently finds it necessary to remove a flea's appen dix in his search for still amaller “bugs.” In the past he wasted many an hour trying to perform the mi- croscopic appendectomy, only to spoil the job in the end. Now he has invented a delicate instrument to do the work mechan- ically. The operation is invariably “successful” but the patient always dies. Much must be done, he says, to perfect the art of flea surgery. His instrument consists of delicate needles operated under & microscope eliminating unsteady hands.
