John C. Krennan will have been an ordained priest of the Roman Catholic church for 32 years. On November 2, 1913, the corner- stone of the new church was luid witn impressive servic and on May 1914, the new church was dedicated. The church has today one of the most beautiful interior decor- ations of any church buiiding in this section of the state. A new 87,000 organ was installed last ar and was dedicated on the 50th annive sary of the church. This was on one of the achievements of her Brennan during his 15 years with the church here. Snyder of Putnam was appointed visiting nurse for the town of Berlin at a meeting of tt Visiting Nurses' association held last night. If there should he a fire in Berlin, it will be answered by the New Britain department at the rate of $100 per hour. To date no acceptance of the new contract has been filed with the New Britain authorities, and Chairman Jumes J. Butler of the fire board states that a reasonable time will be allowed for the town to furnish the additional insurance that is called for in the contract, Y 30 there will be a town meeting to hear a special commit- tee that was appointed at the last town meeting. It will report on the cost of a department in Berlin as compared with the cost per year of the New Britain contract. At this meeting final action wiil be taken on the fire question. Until that time Berlin will he protected by the New Britain firc department and, if it is decided that this is the ches way out of the matter, the contract will stand as signed.
