Police Question &s About Automobile Theft An automobile owned by Johm Mec- Neil of 350 Washington street was riported stolen last night from Court sireet, at 10:30 o'clock. and was found later on Erwin Place by Of- ticer Gigliotti. At 2:40 this morning Officer James McCabe saw three boys, aged 15 and 16 years, run out of a hall- way at 227 North street. He caught layout and building ar- | lived in the house. He took thc other one to the police station for ques- tioning and it was learned that he had been absenting himself from school and was afrail to go home. Officers Hellberg and McCue took him home and learned that he was 16 years of age last January although he claimed tc be only 15. He has been with other boys of about the same age who have been making a practice of “razzing” Officers McCue and Cosgrove in North street, :c- cording to Officer McCue's report. The police were unable to fasten the taking of the automobile on the beys. Officer McCue had stopped the trio earlier in the morning and they told him they were on their way home from a howling alley where they worked. but it was learned later that they were not 8o employed. C. Porter Sons, also named as co-defendants. The damage has been appraised by Bliss & Cole of Har(ford at $4.- 160 and the main question is whether the owners of the building are liable for the damage or B. C. Porter Sons. The damage was caus- ed on July 5, 1928, during a rain- storm when water came through the roof and floors of the building | into the store occupied by the plain- uffs damaging goods to a consider-| able extent. Davidson & Leventhal and Arthur Jones sold some land in the rear ot the store occupied by Kolodney Bros to B. C. Porter Sons, who began tearing down the rear wall of the building when remodeling the fur- niture store.
