CHAMBER HEADS TO | INVESTIGATE GOLF Directors Appoint Committee o Study Links Question Taking action on the report of Becretary Ralph H. Benson that Bundreds of New Britain peopie want a public golf course, the di- ®eotors of the Chamber of Commerce voted today to appoint a committee to study the question thoroughly grom all angles and bring in a re- port and definite recommendation at the next meeting. Mr. Benson reported that 500 re- plies had been received and tabu- lated to date and that he personal- ly knew where there were several hundred more, all but a few favoring the course. On the strength of this report the vote to appoint a committee on .n- vestigation was passed unanimous!; President Pardon C. Rickey ap- pointed Judge Morris D. Saxe chair- man and the following members: Judge William F. Mangan, chair- man of the board of park commis- sioners; E. E. Baldwin, Louie S. Jones, C. W. Buckey, H. V. Camp, P. Lanpher, Jr. and Frank H. Shield. Mr. Benson reported for the traf- fic bureau that plans are being made for the annual outing at the Shut- tlc Meadow club on June 7, when General W. W. Atterbury, president of the Pennsylvania railroad and several Penusylvania officials will be present.
