IPPOINTED HENTOR OFY.W.C. A TEAN Niss Eichstaedt to Instroct (Girls" Basketball Squad The interest in basketball has been so keen this winter that the Y. W. C. A. has found it necessary to add a basketball instructor to train the teams. Miss Fossett, the director of health education depart- ment has done this work in the past. The membership of the de- partment have increased to such an extent that Miss Fossett cannot take on the additional work. Forty girls have signed up for basketball. Great hope is felt that out of the group an excellent New Britain Y. W. team 'will develop. The Pinnacle club gives promize of being a fine and snappy team. The girls in this group are yourg girjs employed in local industries. They are developing some excellent pass work. The club is to meet this ‘week to decide on suits, Miss Eichstaedt will take charge of the basketball work this Friday. Bridgeport, Jan. 8 UM—Frank Ter- robish of this city, a laborer em- ployed by the Bridgeport Gas Light company, i held without bonds fac- tng a cl.arge of murder as a result of the death in Bridgeport hospital yesterday of John Kovacs, 49, a fel- low employe. Terrobish is allpged to have fatally wounded Kovacs by hitting him on the head wi a shovel 8aturday morning. The fight is reported to have start- ed as a result of an argument over Al 8mith's defeat for president in the last election. New Haven, Jan. 8 (M—Continu- ation of negotiations toward a union of Grace hospital and New Haven hospital was recommended by the board of directors of the Grace hos- pital soclety by its acceptance of & report submitted to a special com- mittee appointed fdom the board last May. As a preliminary step toward the union of :the institutions, a commit- tee headed by Lewis S. Welch ree- ommends the formation of a com- mittee of conference or operation.
