DISCUSS CHANGES AT GENTRAL SCHOOL Find lor Improvements May Be Inclnded fo Budget Although the Central Junior high achool will probably benefit by im- provements and repairs, it is prac- tically certain that pupils will go to the achool for a few years more, at least, following an inspection of the bullding by the school board's finance committee and Supt. Staniey H. Holmes. The committee, in company with the Central Junior high achool Parent and Teachers’ assaciation accommodations committee inspeét- ed the bullding late yesterday after- noon and the conclusion was reached that although the building was not suitable, the time was not at hand ‘when a new bullding could be erect- od. . All present agreed that the re- quests of the assoclation for re- pairs and improvements were rea- sonable and it is probable that an item will be contained in the school department budget which will pro- vide tunds for the changes. It was suggested that the present building and property be sold and that a business block be censtructed in its place. The following improvements were asked: Auditorium: cover walls with celotex to improve acoustica, paint walls and cellinga, install new stage curtain and stage equipment, en. large door to attic to make R suit- able for an exit in case of fire, en- large stairs from balcony to¢main fioor, install window grater on large windowa at bottom of balcony stairs; gymnasiums: enlarge locker rooms and install * shower baths; play- ground: grade, install a catch basin in northwest section and connect with water sewer; fire escapes: re- place with emnclosed fireproof stair- way and enclose iron stairway and cover treads.
