MRS. LEONARD MORSE Mrs. Morse of Everett street gave a bridge tea yesterday | afternoon at her home, Social Activities About Gown Yale-Harvard Game High Light of Day—Gala Dinner and Dance Out At Shuttle Meadow Club— Thanksgiving Holiday Brings Round of Parties—School Set Home, LL sorts of festivities are due Thanksgiving week, always a gay “little season” of its own. One of the novelties will be the holiday tea dance out at the Shuttle Meadow club. There are already fifty reservations for the regular mid-day dinner with a score or more to come. Many of these folks will stay | on for the dancing while still others make a point of getting out to the club late in the afternoon. The school and college | set particularly take advantage of this party and literally come out in droves. The joy of meeting old friends and the excel- lent music count for a great deal but a tea dansant has an al- lure of its own, an enticing sound. % * E Yale-Harvard football game is the thing today. Scores and scores of New Britainites will be in the bowl when the | whistle blows for the 47th meeting of Old Eli and the Crimson team. As is usual many luncheons will precede the event, both in town—the parties motoring down in time for the kick-off— and at the various inns and clubs along the route. Parties of all sorts follow the game—though dining and dancing affairs | are the most numerous. The Shuttle Meadow club comes to the front with a gala party—a gorgeously colorful dinner dance. | The ball room, dining room, west porch and grill room will be flaming with decorations of white, Harvard red and the Yale blue. More than 150 dinner reservations have been made which means before the evening is over there will be a throng of diners and dancers numbering close to 200. Mr. and Mrs. John C. Loomis are giving a party for 22, the William H. Booths are! entertaining for their house guests and there are several “no| host” parties. Dinner will be served at 8 o'clock and Si Yaffe will play for the general dancing. MONG the more interesting informal parties slated for the | winter months are the studio teas which Miss Martha| Moore and Miss Virginia Hart are planning to give weekly, Wednesday and Thursday from 5 until 6 o'clock at the old| Moore homestead. The place has been unoccupied for several years but now bids fair to be the scene of many gala parties.
