Carriers Loaded With Mall The heaviest load of mail of the present Christmas rush awaited the mail carriers when they reported for work this morning. With the heavi- est first class mail handled so far, it was not until 10 o'clock that th: carriers got their malil sorted so that they could leave the post office. The usual morning deliveries were not completed until this afternoon and as a result the carriers were only able to cover their routes partially on the afternoon delivery. There was a falling off of parcel post material dispatched from the local post office yesterday, although the volume of this mail still con- tinues to run high. The incoming | parcel post material today is about the same as it was yesterday and it is belleved that the peak in this class of mail matter handling has been reached. Act on Charity Program Final action upon the plans made for the Christmas charity program of the Bristol Lodge of Elks will be acted upon at the regular meeting of the lodge to be held in the Elks club this evening. At tonight's meeting the degree will also be conferred upon a class of candidates and several applications will be acted upon.
