ROUND UP BANAITS ATHOLIDAY DINNER Brothers, Wanted for Southing- fon Jobs, Held in New Jersey (Spectal to the Her: Southington, Nov. of the alleged bandit committed a series of depredations in Southington and its surrounding territory, apprehiended yester- day in Perth Amboy, N. J,, by the police of that city at the instance of County Detective Edward J. Hickey. The two men, Joseph Pinkewitz, ag 22, and his brother, John, alias John Cooper, couldn’t resist the tempta- tion to enjoy a Th siving dinner home and upo ir e ] here, they were seized by th o0 had been heeping @ str on the premises, Frank Todzia of 24 Nash strect, New Britain, was arrcsted by New Britain police on November 13 and, according to the police, he fessed his part in the holdups and robberies which had occurred over i space of more than two weeks and also fmplicated the New Jersey vouths and gave their address o the police. One other member of the alleged gang is at liberty and the police are still searching for him. ' He 1s Edward Glotke, age 26 years, of Southington. Constable Thomas Murphy of Southington and Deputy Sheriff Harry Comstock left yester- day to bring the two prisoners back to this state. Since Todzia's arrest, Hickey and Constable Murphy have connected the ring with a series of robberies. It was found that they first started out on their carcer of crime on November 10 by robbing the gasoline station of A. J. Haine on the Cheshire road, using a stolcn car fog transportation. then went to Southington where the held up Joscph Perry of 235 Ouk sireet, New Britain, and Jost "Marbolin of 165 Hartford avenue. They secured $50 trom Marholin. Following these acts, they went to YWatertown, abandoned their stolen car and it is alleged took another owned by the Perry Electrical Co. and proceeded to Bristol. ~There they abandoned the car stolen in \Watertown and took another owned by David Goodhart of Bristol. I’ass- ing through Forestville, they broke into the hardware store of Anderson & Bloom and took shotgun shells and burglars' tools. They rested for the night. Fired On By Auto Owner . On November 11, about 7 o'clock in the evening, they were driving along Marion avenue in Southington when thelr stolen car crashed into a horse and wagon. The horse was 50 badly injured that it had to be Killed, They fled from the scene and attempted to steal an automo- bile owned by Joseph Asklar of Southington.
