THE MAGIC FLAME AT THE CAPITOL Great Romance of Filmdom— Ben Hur Goming Samuel Goldwyn, producer of “Stella Dallas,” “The Night of Love” The Dark Angel” and other dis- tinguished films, offers as the piecc Jde resistance of his career the new Ronald Colman-Vilma Banky film, “The Magic Flame,” coming to the (Capitol today for a 4 day run. Di- rected by Henry King, maker of “Stella Dallas,” and adapted by Bess Meredith from Rudolph Lothar's play, “King Harlequin,” “The Magi Mlame” is a story of clowns and counts, circus and court, love and laughter. Donald Colman plays two roles ir the film, that of a clown and that of a count. It is Vilma Banky, an aer- ial artist, whom Colman's two char- acters love and struggle for. Into the warp and woof of that conflic! Henry King has injected romance, surprising situations, humor. satire, physical struggle, a pair of murders, a balloon ascension and parachute iump, a whole circus filmed in its colorful details, and directorial acu- men such as the moviegoing public has come to associate with his nams cays Manager Barrett of the Capi- tol theater. The action of the story occurs in a Mediterranean country, Baretti's circus furnishing the background gainst which Vilma Banky and Konald Colman wmake love. It is when Colman, the Clown, has tri- umphed over Colman, the Count, that the locale is switched to the Toyal Court, as King of Tilyria. When Vilma Banky arrives at th court to avenge the murder of her lover, the Clown, 'she does not sus- | pect the true identity of the mon- arch. Tt is with the disentanglement of this tense situation that the plot thereafter is concerned. On Wednesday the program changes and brings a double feature headed by George Ade’s great “The Collcge Widow"” with sh Dolores panion feature will present “I Devils” a Peter 1. Kyne tals venture and with Claire Windsor. “Ben Hur” Coming The Capitol management proudly «nnonnces the showing of ‘the great photoplay masterpic “Ben Hur tor seven days beginning Saturday, November 12.
