Published — Selectmen to Administer Elector's Oath—Church News and Items, That this towh might provide the site of an airport for New Britain was made known today when it was discovered that the aviation commit- tee of New Britain had been inves- tigating sultable property for the lo- tion of the field in this town. The advisability of selecting the present temporary landing field on the New Britain Machine company’s property here was thoroughly discussed by the New Britain committee and several other suitable properties were visited it is said. No definite announcement concerning the probable outcome of the investigations has been made but the opinion has been expressed by several New Britain authorities that chances are good for a Berlin site for the New Britain airport. Local officials have notified the New Britain authorities that the town would co-operate in every way towards the acceptance of a local field as the future airport and op- timistic views are being held rezard- ing the possibility of Kensington be- ing the scene of the incoming and outgoing passenger and commercial planes of future days. Such a loca- tion would be a big step forward for the town, Berlinites claim, and the residents of this place as a whole are anxious to see the acceptance of lo- cal land by the aviation committee of New Britain. In the event the Hardware City authorities decide on a Kensington location for the field, Berlin will have the, distinction of having two muni- cipal airports within its boundaries. In the spring, Meriden acquired a sizeable tract of land located in Blue Hills for the location of an airport for the Silver City. At that time several plancs were tested out on the ground, making landings and taking oft at the dedication exercises. Since then little activity has taken place at the Blue Hills landing field but it is generally believed that the Meriden authorities will grade and improve the property when the.needs of avia- tion demand a municipal landing[ field for that city. { Small Vote Seen ‘With the annual town elections only a little over a week distant, lo- cal politicians claim that a small vote will be cast at the polls this year. Last year's large vote will not be cast this year, they claim, as little interest has been shown in any of the town's activities. Both republican and town committee heads complete turnout on election day during the coming week, but it ig the general opinion that the lack of contest in any of the primarics and the meagre attendance at political meetings during the past few weeks as discouraged hopes for a large vote. democratic will urge a St. Paul's Church Mass will be celebrated at 8 and 10 o'clock standard time tomorrow at St. Paul's church, Kensington.
