(A—British no- bility is sporsoring a new sport— that of dog-racing. A group of titled women found a racing greyhound cheaper to keep | than a racehorse and just as excit- ing, so it is now considered chic in | Mayfair and Belgravia to own one. | Society at large, especially the fem- inine contingent, is going in whole- heartedly for the sport, which may hereafter be described as the “sport of queens.” Limehouse and Wapping, too, have taken up electric hare racing, and ft is not unusual at the various | racing meets, which are becoming more and more frequent, to sce a | costerwoman’s dog pitted against | the slym streak owned by a duchess.
