City Items A Ypecial meeting-of the execu- tive committee of the Polish Amer- ican Republican club will be held Thursday evening at 496 Main street. Plans will be made for the annual picnic. 8. H. Wood, the optician, will at. tend the funeral of his brother, G. P. Wood, in Ellingtpn tomorrow afternoon. A son, DeWitt Atwater Riley, Jr., was born to Mr. and Mrs. DeWitt * A. Riley on May 1 at New Britain General hospital. The police were notified today of the return of the operator's license of Jennie Goldman of 62 Harrison street. On Saturday, May 7, the Willing Service club and members of the Girls' work committee will hike to the Graham homestead in Kensing- ton where & “dog” roast and field day will be held with Mis Grace Stowell as hostess. The girls will meet at the Legion home at 1:30 o'clock. The next regular meeting of the club will be held Thursday, May 12. The annual department conven- tion of the Women's Relief Corps will be held in the First Congrega- tional church, ‘Waterbury, Thurs- day and Friday. Members of Stanley Women's Rellef corps wishing to attend will take the 6:07 or 9:20 train, standard time. The missiop circle of St. Mat- thew's Lutheran church will meet tomorrow afternoon with Mrs. Ed- ward Koerber of 111 Maple street. There will be a meeting of Val- fant Review, No. 9, in Red Men's hall, 277 Main .street, tonight.
