CORBIN RED SOX | PLAY TOMORROW Local Club Meets Norwich Sat-| urday Instead of Sunday | The Corbin Red Sox will open the 1927 baseball season tomorrow after- noon in Norwich playing the Hiver- view club of that city. Through a misunderstanding, it was stated that the game would pbe played on Sun- day when in reality it will be staged tomorrow atternoon. Manager John Tobin haa selected an fmposing array of baseball talent to represent this city in the game. He will use Berg and Luckland, a right and left hander, on the firing line, with Huband dolng the recelv- ing. In the inficld, he will use Ilitz- patrick, Pretsser, Patrus, Blanchard and Schmidt. All these men have at one time or aneother played on the Corbin Red Sox and they have the happy facuity of being able to play the game together in an efficient manner. In the outficld, to round qut @ good looking hascbull nine, Tobin has sccured Mickey Huber, Fergu- son and Paul Snyder. This trio not only gives the hackers of the teanu assurance that the outer gardens will be covered but also gives the team a punch at bat that means a great deal in a ball game. The players are all-reported to be in good form for the fray. They have all been working out for the past three weeks and despite the handi- cap under which the team is work- ing of not having played this year while the opposition has already won four games, Manager Tobin is con- fident that the Sox will put the first dent in the Norwich platter tomor- row, Members of the team will meet tomorrow prepared to go to Nor- wich at the corner of Main and Church strect at 11 o'clock. A dele- gation of rooters is expected to ac- company the club to Norwich. WIN TWO GAMES The Camp Sluggers won two games yesterday by defeating the Owls 5 to 4 and the Monroe Streets 9 to 0.
