ST ot o b Siauid S WANT INCREASE IN INSPECTORS' WAGES Building Board Would Add $1,800 to Salary Costs An increase of $700 in the salary of plumbing inspector and of $1,100 in that of the electrical inspector, together with provision for transpor- tation for both, will be recommend- ed to the common council, to be made eftective when successors to P. J. Tormay and C. J. Curtin, the re- tired inspectors, are appointed. These salaries, provided the com- mon council falls in line with the commissioners suggestion, will be equal to that now paid the building inspector, or $3,000. Commissioner William R. Fenn suggested the salary for plumbing inspector and Commissioner T. W. Hinchliffe pro- posed the new electrical inspector’s pay. Cowles Acting Electrical Inspector In the period that will elapse before | the new inspectors are appointed, C. W. Cowles will be acting in the of- fice formerly occupied by Curtin, The | first plan of the commissioners, the appointment of Mason P. Andrews, was sidetracked as was indicated earlier in the day. Andrews submit- ted an application for a permanent appointment as did also Nels N, Nel- son, Bertil Ring and Dewey Hultin. Cowles is not a candidate for the job and will not accept it an a perman- ent basis he has informed the board. Discuss Moving Building At the request of Attorney Israel Nair the application of Antonio Squillaciote for permission to remove W four-te ment house from 467 Myrtle street to Burritt street, was rcopened. Continuance of one week for investigation was ordered. Attorney Nair said Squillaclote is the contractor, but Nunzio Greco is the owner. Greco has paid conslder- able money fora new site and plans extensive improvements which, he said, will assure the objecting neigh- bors their property will not be ‘de- teriorated by an unsightly or poorly kept building. Bills for the upkeep of the de- partment’s light touring car were presented, showing the charge for Januar. depreciation to be $56.62. The car is now in need of additional repair, In- spector A. N. Rutherford said. Com- oner Romeo Grise ventured an opiniori that the department will have little difficulty in obtaining a new car if bills continue to come in at th ate. Leavitt Praises Warner Chairman Leavitt told of his con- ference earlier in the day with Coun- cilman W. Spaulding Warner who s | leading an investigation of the method of giving and marking elec- trical examination. The chairman re- marked the “Wa'ner investigation seems to have been very thorough and painstaking and the findings fair. Some criticism and some sug gestions will be offered after which the report will come back to the commission for study, he said. LEGAT BUSINESS MANAGER OF NEWSPAPER AT C. U. HOW TO “COME BACK” Not age, but overworked, sluggish kidneys, bladder weakness and pros- tate gland trouble arc what make practically seven out of ten men past 40 care-worn, fagged out and old before their time. They break down easily and are unfit for either work or pleas- ure. But now, with the vitalizing in- ternal exercise produced by the m; James B. velous restorative radium power of ARIUM Tablets, the normal, youthful action of the glands and organs is often quickly renewed, just as Nature intended. No more such alarming symptoms as lame back, rhewmatic twinges, dizzi- ness, pains in the head, higl blood pressure, sour stomach, frequent get- ting up nights, nervous weakness and lack of vital force. You should see and feel a truly startling improvement in Yourself each day. Amazing testimony of physicians and users gives convineing proof of the re- markable power of ARIUM to help store health and strength to the sick and. afflicted. H. Elzey of Indiana says: “I have been taking ARIUM for the past two weeks and I am well pleased. The radium rays are sure clearing up my kidneys. The puss and * poison that I passed was a fright. Just two weeks after I commenced taking ARICM 1 had my water tested: they found no albumin and it is clearing up nicely. T am feellng better in evers way.” T. H. Houllhan of North Da Kota writes: “I had irritation of the prostate gland but now feel all right.” C. E.
