Bridgeport, Aug. 4—While walk- ing along Main street yesterday afternoon under the blazing sun, Louis Bowman, 58, 658 Main street, felt a stinging sensation in his head. Upon examination he found that his left eye which was made of glass, had exploded, with parti- cles of the glass becoming em- bedded in the eye socket. He removed what was left of the eyé and holding it in the palm of his hand made his way to the Emergency hospital where he in- formed the staff that he just had n explosion. He exhibited the fragments of his glass eye to bear out his contention. Dr. D. M. Rowe of the hospital staff worked for an hour removing the ss and other foreign bodies from the eye socket.
