NEW BRITAI'. DAILY HERALD, SATURDAY, OCTOBER 17, 1925 Announcements of Winter Gayeties Before Busy Season It's fairly early to talk about the mid-winter's social program, so everybody admits, still, if dates are not re- served months in advance, various subscription dances, charity entertainments and balls will find themselves with- out a place to hold forth, The regular dances held each winter, like those of the Shuttle Meadow club, are arranged for weeks in advance, those planned for this winter, by the way, coming on the first and middle Saturdays of each month. Then there are always the Kenilworth club affairs and numerous other gayeties which take place for the most part at the Hotel Burritt or the Shuttle Meadow club. Already the series of dances known as the “Monday Night Dances” have begun and are taking place at the Shuttle Meadow club. As in previous years, William C. Hungerford is in charge. The Yale-Pennsylvania Dinner Dance at the Shuttle Meadow .club tonight holds promise of being one of the notable events on the club calendar. Louis Young is chair- man.of the committee of arrangements. 8 The clubs, too, are already beginning a husy and active season, their programs in every case putting interesting speakers hefore the New Britain public, Bridges and teas and the matinee are coming in for their own, and the winter season is already destined to be a brilliant one. ACTIVITIES AMONG WOMEN'S CLUBS New Britain people who were for. tunate enough to hear Mary Taylor Blauvelt speak here last season are 1 looking forward to welcoming her again this fall. She will give the first in a series of nine lectures on ‘Tuesday, October 27th, at 4 o'clock in St.-Mark's parish rooms.
