GERMAN HAS OWN K. K. K. GRoUP Govt, Takes Steps to Prevent Growth of Order Berlin, Sept. 10 (A)—Berlin is in a stir over the discovery that Germany is possessed of a new order—'The Knights of the Flery Cross.” One American and two German- Americans are declared by the police to have started the organization, which seems to have galned some strength as 40 persons alleged to have been connected with it have been taken {nto custody and other arrests are declared to be imminent. One thousand Germans are credited with holding membership in it The “Knights of the Fiery Cross” have copled to some extent the rit- ual of the Ku Klux Klan. The i signia of the organization is a bloody cross, the black, red and white flag of imperial ermany and the anti- semitic swastlka. The membership has beéen largely obtained from the “Wikingbund' and the “Frontbann,” notorious fascist groups. Almed At Jews It is the avowed purpose of the knights to gather together men “de- termined to fight fon the liberation of the fatherland” and “by waging war on Jews, to free the country of undesirables.” The names of the American and the German-Ameri- cans who started the organization are being kept secret by the police. Until concrete evidence ia produced that they are promoting a German Ku Klux Klan the American diplo- matie representatives will decline to intervene. The mysterious disappearance of a young adherent of the knights is said to have provided the police with the club leading to the discovery of the organization. A mafority of those being detained by the police are young men, and it is therefore presumed that the order is a new variation of the German bands which were responsible for the and Dr. Waller Rathenau, As these organizations are barred under the federal law for the “pro- tection of the republic” the assump- Glad He Picked This Good Stomach Remedy Puts Stomach in Fine Condition— Ends Dizzy Spells, Catarrh and Makes You Sleep Well, Tnjudicious eating causes acute in- digestion, gas, acidity, heaviness and sour stomach--sometimes the dis- tended stomach causes that dread- ful feelng of near suffocation.
