DYNAMITE BOMB WRECKS BUILDING IN BUFFALO Loss Put At $20,000—FPeople in Ad. | foining Houses Thrown From Thelr Beds | Niagara Falls, N. Y., July 13— | An explosion, believed to have been | caused by a dynamite bomb, wreck- ed a two-story brick and frame dwelling in East Falls street at 2:45 o'clock this morning. The building was.owned and occupied by Joseph La Tona, an insurance agent and puperyisor from the third ward, Fire * followed the explosion and the building and contents’are total loss. “The damage 1 estimated at $20,000. No one was injured in the blast, all members of the La Tona family be- ing out of the city. Five minutes before the explosion occurred ‘a patrolman on (he post tried the door of the store and no- ticed nothing unusual about the place. The blast blew the roof off the building and rocked other build- ings for a block, throwing tenants | from their beds and breaking ma windows In adjoining structures. When firemen and police arrived on the scene flames were shooting from fall sections of the building. Firemen yfound~four cans that had contained | ‘gdsoline in the ruins. La Tona recently announced his candidacy for renomination as su- pervisor. Police believe political enemies amang the foreign born community may have been responsi- | ble for the explosion.
