Carroll and Kane had been trailed through the city's streets by friends of Bielman who recognized the reg- Istration numbers of the missing car, and at an opportune moment, they hailed the two police officers, bring Ing about the arrest. Today the alleged offenders were presented before Judge B, W. Alling on charges of stealing the car and through Attorney T, K. McDonough they pleaded not guilty. Bonds were fixed at $500 and the case was set down for trial next Tuesday. Bielman with some friends was at- tending a carnival and had parked his car at the corner of West and Stanley streets. At 10:05 o/clock he found the machine missing. He communicated with the police de- partment and police in Hartford, Meriden and Waterbury were asked to be on the lookout for the car. The arrest of Carroll and Kane came shortly afterward.
