COMONS UPSET BY LATEST OUTBREAK Suspehsion of Kirkwood Causes Excitement By The Assoclated Presa. London, March 6.—The storm that suddenly arose in the house of com- | mons last evening, culminating in the suspension of the Scotch labor sys- tem. David Kirkwood, and a walk- out by the entire laborite section, | overshadows Koreign Secretary | Chamberlain's speech in the morning | newspaper accounts of the session, The outstanding feature today is expected to be a motion by the labor | leader, Former Premier MacDonald, | that time be given for discussion of a vote of censure upon Deputy Speaker Hope, on the ground that his action in the Kirkwood case was unwarranted. There 1s a wide opinlon among the dlvergence of politicians and | public, some blaming Mr, Hope and || others Mr. Kirkwood, and the matter | was hotly canvassed in the parlia- | mentary lobbles after last evening’s | session. It is admitted that Mr. Kjrkwood persistently interrupted the foreign secretary and seemed bent upon | showing that the foreign affairs of | which he was speaking were of trif- ling interest. On the other hand it is contended that wide license has been habitually glven to the laborite extremists in view of their lack of acquaintance” with parliamentary cus toms, that Mr. Hope's sharp rebuke surprised many, and that he seemed to show unnecessary Impatience and lack of tact. Some of the conservatives and lib- erals share in this view, and many liberals, including some of the lead- ers, voted against Kirkwood's sus- pension. Opponents of the laborites con- demn former Premier MacDonald for upholding Mr. Kirkwood by leading the opposition out of the house, but they suggest that this move may have been aimed at conciliating the left wing of the labor party, over which, they say, Mr. MacDonald's control is very weak, as was shown by the recent outery over the Prince of Wales' travelling expenditures, The general opinion seems to be that the incident would never have reached the dimensions it did it the regular speaker had been in the OUCH! BACKACEE RUB LUMBAGOOR STIFFNESS AWAY cobs Oll stops any pain, €0 your back is sore and lame, or lumbago, sciatica or rheumatism has you stiffened up, don't suffer! Get a small trlal bottle of old, honest St, Jacobs Oil at any drug store, pour a little in your hanr, and rub it right on your aching back; and by the time you count fifty the soreness and lameness is gone. Don’t stay crippled! This soothing, penetrating oil needs to be used only once. It takes the pain right out and ends the misery. It is magical, yet absolutely harmless, and doesn't burn the skin. Nothing else stops lumbago, sci- atica, backache or rheumatism so wher chalr, but hope is expressed that the outcome will be an impfovement in the manners of habitual interrup- ters, of whatever party. DANISH NOBLEMEN ARE VICTIMS OF SWINDLERS |Ask Chicago Polioe to Ald i Re- covery of Their Lost $54,700, March Chicago, 6.—Lensharon |George ¥rederik Zytphen Agler and Count Bigismund I'rants Castenschi- old, who Iidentifled themscives as members of the Danish nobllity, to- day enfisted the ald of the police in finding four suave gentlemen who, they say, defrauded them of $54,700, |The four men, who had been helping them make a fortune betting on the Havana horse races, vanished yester- day with the money and today the noblemen became suspicious, they said. Agler and his companion, on a trip around the world, met a man at Ha- vana who introduced himself as Johan B. Johnson, Great Ialls, Mont., cattle raiser, He introduced them to a hetting commissioner who |took them to a sumptuously furnish- ed club where he gave them tips on the races by which they won two to one on a $50,000 bet, ‘When it came time to collect, they were required to put up $50,000 to |show they could have paild had they lost. They sent to Denmark for the cash but were ufiable to cash a draft |in Havana and so came to New York, returned to Key West and then came to Chicago where Johnson and the commissioner preceded them, Here yesterday they met Johnson and the commissioner and two other men and finally decided to give one of the men the money to take to a hotel because they were afrald ot being robbed if they carrfed it them- selves, A short time later they were unable to find any of the men and have not seen their money since. Apologizing to Kipling, he sald the object of his remarks reminded him of “an India rubber Injun on a spree.” A farowell dinner to Senator Walsh ®f, Massachusetts who retired on Mareh 4, was the occasion for the address, which was listened to by a number of senators. Attacks Rates on Eggs And Dairy Products Washington, March 6.—Rates on poultry, oggs and dairy from western trunk line territory to points east of the Tndiana-Tllinois state line were attacked today by western shippers, including American farm bureau frwlm:\tmn and the National Poultry & soclation, in a complaint (lhrl \\Ith the interstate commerce commission. The complaint sald the western | trunk line territory which includes a large area west of the Mississippi has been subjected to unfair treat- ment since March 20, 1924, when the raflroads put into effect new sched- ules.
