March “These changes will mark an im- || portant step in the history of Con. necticut high school athletics,” says .the announcement made today. “The Connecticut interacholastic confer- ence was organized flve years ago. Its membership consists of high schaols only which are represented by their principals so that the direc- tion of the-athletic policy is still in the president's hands. In its or- ganization there is a board of con- trol consisting of representatives of, each of four classes of high school, rated according to size. Principal C, L. Kirschner, New Haven, class A; Principal P. A. Jakob, Norwalk, class B; Principal H. 8. Allen, Wa- torbury, class C; Pyincipal C. H. El. liott, class D, Dr. A, G. Ireland, state supervisor of physical educa- tion, and the officers, Principal ter B. Spencer of New Haugn, ident; H. E, Cottle of Bristol, -president; Principal Fred Frank M. Jeffrey, of Torrington, treasurer and vice-president; Principal Fred A. Hunt of Meriden, sccretary, are also members ex-officio of this board..
